Africa's Hope provides accountability in pastoral education, assuring that leaders are properly trained in sound doctrine.
The Commission for Theological Education (CTE)
The Commission for Theological Education (CTE) serves a key role in training in Africa. CTE provides assistance for institutions desiring to improve their standard of training and achieve recognition through continental level endorsement. To be endorsed by the commission, an institute, school or seminary must conduct an extensive self-study based on 10 basic standards of training. If the self-study is approved, a site team will visit the institution to verify that the school qualifies.
The commission was formed in 1997 by the Africa Assemblies of God Alliance (AAGA). The leaders of AAGA recognized an urgent need to enhance Bible training in Africa by providing a system of continental standards and external review. A commission of African and missionary educators was appointed to carry out this task. To date, 28 educational institutions in Africa have received endorsement.

The Association for Pentecostal Theological Education in Africa (APTEA)
In 2011 the Commission on Theological Education will join a newly formed partnership of African schools and educators called the Association for Pentecostal Theological Education in Africa (APTEA). This new association will be Pentecostal in focus yet interdenominational in scope. It will be a full-service association offering three commissions:

APTEA will be a founding member of the World Alliance for Pentecostal Theological Education (WAPTE), an international body that sets and monitors standards for endorsement, accreditation and teacher certification for its members. The partnership with WAPTE will facilitate the sharing of resources at a global level.
