Ramadan in Senegal

As I write this I am listening to the Imams of several mosques chanting their prayers over their loud speakers. Ramadan started earlier this week, and Muslims are supposed to fast all day. Once the sun goes down, they are allowed to eat. The prayers & chanting happens five times a day. I heard it first at 4:30 this morning. Senegal is 98% Muslim, and this country needs the light of the gospel.

This week we have been training 7 pastor/teachers from 3 countries with more effective teaching skills. These pastors work in very difficult circumstances in highly Islamic contexts. They are the key men who reproduce themselves through the pastors they train.

I get up at 4 am tomorrow to catch an airplane to Benin, where we will train 40 more teachers. God will use these teachers to train many more pastors for the revival in Africa. (2 Tim. 2:2)
