Kirk and Marlene Spain have served with Africa’s Hope since 2004. As administrator, Kirk’s responsibilities include overseeing all daily operations; assisting with development and promotion; and working with special event coordination, ministry teams and information technology for Bible schools. Marlene serves as bookkeeper for the ministry.

  • Kirk (Birth date: May 8) is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. He grew up in Tanzania and Kenya, East Africa, as a missionary kid (MK) learning to speak Kiswahili at a young age.
  • Marlene (June 27) is also an MK, the daughter of career missionaries in East and Central Africa.
  • They have two children: Kealy (18, Feb. 19) and Kyle (16, Aug. 31).

2000 – 2004

Kirk served as director of athletics  and Marlene worked in the student life office at Valley Forge Christian College, Phoenixville, PA.

1994 – 2000

The Spains were Nebraska District home missionaries, serving as Chi Alpha campus pastors on the campus of Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska. During this time Kirk was also the district Chi Alpha representative.

1989 - 1994

Kirk and Marlene spent five years on an Assembles of God MAPS assignment both in Africa and the United States.
